Nadine McHenry (b. 1948)

Nadine McHenry grew up on her family’s cattle ranch in Nebraska’s Sandhills, an experience that frequently can be seen reflected in the subjects of her paintings. She studied art and journalism at the University of Nebraska and has taught art at Nebraska Wesleyan University, Kearney State College, and Lincoln Public Schools. For nearly twenty years she worked in marketing, serving as a marketing officer at National Bank of Commerce and as an Assistant Vice-President at Vistar Bank. Since 1996 McHenry has been painting full-time. She is the recipient of the 2002 Lincoln Mayor’s Arts Award for Artistic Achievement. In 2007 she was invited by the Willa Cather Foundation to take two paintings to the Sorbonne in Paris.
