Maxine Yalovitz-Blankenship received an MFA from Pratt Institute and BFA, SCAD, Atlanta

Yalovitz-Blankenship has shown in over 100 exhibitions, including twenty-nine solo shows.

Awards: The John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship; Richard Florsheim Art Fund Grant; Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study; Massachusetts Cultural Council.

She has served on the faculties of the Atlanta College of Art, Georgia State University, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Massachusetts College of Art and Simmons College, Boston. She has served as a mentor at the Art Institute of Boston/Lesley University and Radcliffe.

Public Collections include: The Boston Athenaeum; Boston Museum of Fine Arts; Boston Public Library; Boston University; Danforth Art Museum, Framingham, MA; deCordova Museum, Lincoln, MA; High Museum of Art, Atlanta; Georgia Museum of Art, Athens; Telfair Museum of Art, Savannah; The Radcliffe Institute and Harvard University, Cambridge. A large permanent installation is familiar to travelers at Boston’s Logan International Airport, Delta Terminal A.

Maxine Kumin, Rosanna Warren, Poet Laureate, Philip Levine, and Elizabeth McKim have honored her with poems about her work; writings by Ann Patchett, Alan Lightman, John Baeder, Florence Ladd, Richard Wendorf, among others.
