Leonard Baskin

Leonard Baskin (1922-2000)

Leonard Baskin was a sculptor, illustrator, engraver, printmaker and graphic artist. For 20 years, Baskin taught printmaking and sculpture at Smith College and Hampshire College. Notable public commissions include a bronze sculpture for the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial and a statue for the Holocaust Memorial in Michigan. His work has been included in many major museum collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Museum of Modern Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the British Museum and the Vatican Museums.
