George Tuck

George Tuck (20/21st Century)

Tuck is known for embedding new understanding and point of view into the ordinary lives he captures in his film.  He is also known for his demanding but dedicated teaching in the journalism college for over thirty years.

Tuck received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, and master’s degree in journalism with an emphasis in photojournalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1970.  In the same year, he was recruited to teach at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Tuck has exhibited internationally, and his photos now hang in the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery, the Christlieb Gallery of the Center for Great Plains Studies, in the Federal University of Piaui, Brazil, and in multiple private collections.
